| Details: | This year's PILOT Share Fair, taking place on 3 November at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, is gearing up to be the biggest and best yet with a record number of presenters and attendees expected to take part. Fourteen companies will present their forward work plans and activities, representing potential business opportunities worth over £4billion. Up to 1,000 delegates from small to medium sized supply chain companies are expected to attend the day, sponsored by CAN, to find out about upcoming drilling programmes, technology requirements, integrity projects, plans for operations and maintenance as well as making key contacts.
Brian Kinkead, Oil & Gas UK's supply chain director, said: "Our latest Oil & Gas UK Index showed a marked increase in business optimism and activity across the oil and gas sector and we see this reflected in the enthusiasm for PILOT Share Fair this year. With the rise in business confidence, companies are keen to share their work plans and inform attendees about their activities scheduled over the next 18 months.
"Not only have we got more presenters taking part than usual, but following the sell out event last year, we have also increased our capacity and are expecting up to 1000 delegates from the oil and gas supply chain to attend the event.
"Share Fair is an important aspect of the Supply Chain Code of Practice, which aims to drive out waste, reduce costs, increase business effectiveness and achieve overall efficiencies. With over 100 presentations scheduled throughout the day, this event will improve the quality and quantity of information available to suppliers, and help make companies' buying plans more transparent.
The fourteen companies that will present at PILOT Share Fair 12 are: Aker Solutions, AMEC, BP Exploration Operating Company Limited, Centrica Energy, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, EnQuest PLC, Fairfield Energy, Maersk Oil North Sea UK Ltd, Mobil North Sea LLC, Shell U.K. Limited, Talisman Energy (UK) Limited, Technip and Total E&P UK Ltd.
Kevin Ferrol, supply chain manager with Centrica Energy, who will present at Share Fair for the first time, said: "Share Fair 12 is a fantastic opportunity for Centrica to communicate directly with the UK oil and gas supply chain, enabling us to find the best supply chain partners to help us achieve our goal of maximising recovery from our North Sea assets. The combination of Venture plc and Centrica has created a business with real strength and depth. However, UKCS operators face major challenges and a strong and healthy supply chain is essential to ensure the UK cost base remains competitive to unlock the full potential of the UKCS."
