The Decommissioning Seminar - Engaging the Supply Chain
| Date: | 12 Jun 2008 | | When: | 9.00am - 5.00pm | | Where: | Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, AB23 8BL | | Details: | The UK oil and gas industry is approaching a new phase in its operations during which it will be necessary to decommission some of its installations, many of which have been producing oil and gas for several decades. Decommissioning is a complex process, and ensuring the associated technological, economic, environmental and safety challenges are addressed and overcome will require closer than ever collaboration between operators, the contracting community and Government. At this highly interactive, one-day seminar, delegates will learn from industry operators and key supply chain representatives the importance of both parties being ready to meet the challenges, as well as to grasp the considerable opportunities that decommissioning will present. Speakers with hands-on experience of decommissioning will explain strategies that can be put in place to facilitate the process, and expand on contracting methods in particular. Delegates will also be addressed on the issues associated with cleaning infrastructure before its disposal, rigless abandonment techniques and the opportunities available in providing the technologies so vital in a successful decommissioning programme. The seminar presents an excellent opportunity for representatives of the industry to debate and network on what is at this time a very important topic and crucial to the future of the North Sea. | | Contact: | Louise Wood at events@oilandgasuk.co.uk or on 01224 577 250 For further information please see attached flyer link: http://www.pilottaskforce.co.uk/files/workgroup/2211.pdf |
